Player Liquidity: A Dilemma For U.S. Casinos As Internet Poker Approaches

Commercial and Indian Casinos in the U.S. are trying to make sense of the potential Internet Poker landscape to determine what Internet poker partnerships they should consider but as some Casinos and suppliers have already realized picking the right partner is not as easy as it seems.

Perhaps the biggest concern is “player liquidity”, the amount of online players needed in a poker network to perpetuate growth. In addition, casinos and regulators are concerned about the number of operators, platforms (poker software), the history of unknown foreign companies, and the struggle to compete against unlicensed operators.
